   Short Term

  • To establish and maintain a museum for the inspiration, remembrance, and historical preservation of Alaskan veterans' memories

  • To educate the general publish through the collection, presentation, and exhibition of artifacts, personal accounts, and historical facts relating to the history of our Alaskan veterans

  • Conduct membership drive and fundraising events

  • Recruit volunteers to work on AVM activities

  • Organize an oral history program to preserve the memories of Alaskan veterans

  • Develop a web page for information, fundraising, and recruitment of members and volunteers

  • Purchase computer audio/video hardware and software to enable historical collection process


   Mid Term

  • Construct and operate the AVM within the Eagle River area

  • Continue the on-going oral history collection program to record Alaskan veterans service

  • Provide a comfortable place for veterans to come, meet other veterans, and "heal old wounds"

  • Contineu support for active-duty military, Reserve, and Guard members through appropriate activities

  • Continue educational experiences for youth and museum events to honor veterans

  • Make space available for Disaster Emergency Operations Center

  • Continue museum membership drive

  • Participate in community activities to raise awareness of the AVM vision

  • Support active-duty military, Reserve, and Guard members by coordinating and facilitating "Fan Mail for the Troops"

  • Conduct on-going oral history program for Alaskan veterans

  • Conduct AVM events to honor veterans on appropriate days

  • Provide educational experiences for school children and the public

  • Raise the funds necessary for land acquisition and construction
