CELEBRATE YOUR FREEDOM AT THE ALASKA VETERANS MUSEUM
Come honor our Armed Forces and local heroes at the May 21st Armed Forces Day celebration at the museum from 12 noon to 4 PM. We will have presentations on the CSS Shenandoah who fired the last shots of the American Civil War in 1865 in Alaskan waters; the 1885 Lt H.T. Allen expedition to explore the Copper and Tanana Rivers; a WW I living history; a presentation on the Battle of Attu and more. Learn what makes Alaska so very different in that all five Armed Services have had a role in our history. Come see history come to life in a dramatic way!
The museum is located in the Market Place, 333 W 4th Ave, Ste 227, Anchorage, and is open seven days a week from 10 AM to 8 PM. For our Armed Forces Day celebration only, a special rate of $3 per person is in effect. ###
